Drug Dealer Jailed For 5 Years After Foot Chase With Bedford Officers Uncovers Stash

This is the moment drug dealer Callum Finnigan tried to run from officers from our Bedford Community Policing Team in December last year.

While on a routine patrol on Bushmead Avenue, officers saw what they believed to be a drug deal taking place, leading them to stop and search the 24‑year‑old.

However, as officers approached, Finnigan made a break for it, throwing his bag into a nearby front garden in the process. After a brief foot chase, he was apprehended and, when officers recovered his bag, it was found to contain a substantial quantity of heroin and crack cocaine.

Earlier this month (February 2026), Finnigan was sentenced at Luton Crown Court to five years and seven months in prison for possession with intent to supply, and ordered to pay a total of £496.11 in costs. He also received a one‑month concurrent sentence for possession of cannabis, and had his mobile phone seized and destroyed.
