A mother and father have been charged following the death of their three month old baby in North Finchley.
Emergency services were called to a property on Kingsway at 11:34am on Friday, 30 January, after reports of an unresponsive infant. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, where paramedics provided emergency treatment before the baby boy, referred to as Baby A, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Both parents were arrested later that day on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

On Monday, 2 February, the pair were charged with causing or allowing serious physical harm to a child and appeared before magistrates, where they were remanded in custody.
Tragically, despite medical efforts, the infant died in hospital on Tuesday, 17 February. A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
Following the child’s death, both parents were subsequently charged with murder and with causing or allowing the death of a child.
Dounia Chetaouat, 32, of Kingsway, North Finchley, and Abdelkader Essid, 44, of Clandon Gardens, Finchley, are due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 February after 2pm.
