Ingoldmells Death Investigation: 27-Year-Old Found at Caravan Site Named as Harrison Kapala

An investigation is continuing after a 27-year-old man was found dead at a caravan site on the Lincolnshire coast, in what police are now treating as a murder inquiry.

Emergency services were called at approximately 2:29pm on 27 January 2026 to Beach Estate in Ingoldmells, near Skegness, following reports that a man’s body had been discovered. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed that the death was initially treated as “unexpected” while officers kept an open mind about the circumstances. However, four people, three men aged 19, 22 and 25, and one woman aged 18, were arrested on suspicion of murder. They have since been released on bail as investigations continue.

The man has now been identified as Harrison Kapala, originally from Hinckley. It is understood he had travelled to the area after being invited by individuals described as “so-called friends.”

Arrests and Ongoing Enquiries

Police have not formally named any suspects. However, information circulating locally suggests that one of the arrested men is a 22-year-old from Coventry, currently living in Birmingham. Another is believed to be a 25-year-old from Nuneaton with links to Birmingham. The identities of the remaining two individuals, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, have not been publicly confirmed.

Authorities have stressed that no charges have been brought at this stage and that enquiries remain ongoing. Investigators from Lincolnshire Police continue to examine the exact sequence of events leading up to Harrison’s death.

Suspicious Circumstances

Questions have emerged surrounding the location and timing of the incident. The caravan site at Beach Estate is not typically operational during this time of year, as it falls outside the usual holiday season. This has raised concerns about why Harrison was reportedly invited to travel approximately three hours from his home to an area that would have been largely closed.

Detectives are believed to be exploring all possible lines of enquiry, including how and why he was transported to the site, and who may have been present at the time.

An inquest was opened at the Coroner’s Office in Lincolnshire on 23 February 2026. However, no findings or further details have been released publicly. The results of a post-mortem examination, including toxicology tests, have not yet been disclosed.

Police have confirmed that the case is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Appeal for Information

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have relevant information to come forward. They are particularly interested in dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage from the Ingoldmells and Beach Estate areas on 27 January.

Anyone who can assist is urged to contact police on 101 or email force.control@lincs.police.uk quoting incident 225 of 27 January 2026.

Family Tribute and Repatriation

Family and friends continue to seek answers about the circumstances surrounding his death.

This remains an active and developing investigation. Further updates are expected once forensic results are completed and police enquiries progress.
